Orientation, transition, and retention (OTR) professionals are constantly challenged to think about how can we keep students engaged through programing and throughout the entire academic year. Using Gamification Theory, we've developed ways to address these challenges (and more) — by turning our programs into games in which students are invited to design their own adventures.
This session will help participants develop a keen understanding of Gamification Theory and game-based learning. They'll also learn how one institution took the gaming approach to heart and organized their OTR programs into levels that students complete adore competing in.
