What led you to Presence?
My journey to Presence began when I was searching for new ways to engage with students outside of the classroom. I know that more and more ways to connect with students is through online resources and during my research, I found Presence. What really pulled me in, was the environment that Presence has created. They truly value everyone they work with and care about them as more than just another customer.
How do you see this position fitting into your future career? What benefits or experiences do you hope to gain from working at Presence?
The future is virtual… or at least currently is it. I have always looked for ways to engage with students through online resources because students are already online almost 24/7, so let’s meet them where they are.
This position will really help educate me on the fast-growing world of online education and connection. I hope to build my love of working with higher education but in a new way.
Working for Presence, I really hope to gain a large higher education family. I have always valued my higher ed network family and working for a company that works with so many institutions. I can’t wait to meet more people and learn about their passion for the work they do for students — our future generation.
Where did you attend school? What was your major(s)? Were you involved with any co-curricular or extracurricular activities?
I attended Missouri State University earning my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I was then offered a great opportunity that I couldn’t pass up and got my master’s degree in Higher Education Student Affairs at Missouri State as well. I love MoState and I am proud to be a Bear!
During my time at MoState, I was involved with the programming board, Student Activities Council, for four years. I served on the executive board as vice president and president. When I wasn’t at an event or doing school work, I worked part-time at a movie theater as a 35mm film projectionist and later, as a manager. The best part was that nearly half of the staff at the theater were also members of the programming board!

Why are you excited to be a part of the Presence team?
I am excited to be a part of the Presence Team because I love working with individuals of all different backgrounds and sharing our stories. I can’t wait to find out everyone’s history involved with higher ed and why they are also at Presence.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to go on walks, runs, and bike rides. I love exploring new areas around town and sightseeing old houses, building architecture, and finding local coffee shops to enjoy. I love concerts, music festivals, and making new playlists to listen to throughout the workday.
I really love to travel and explore. I have been to 7 countries and over 40 states. I am hoping to visit all 50 states once it’s safe to travel again but I still do travel locally in the meantime. When I’m not doing all of that, I enjoy being at home with my girlfriend, watching Harry Potter, and baking cookies.
What is something you’ve always wanted to try? What are some goals you have in the future you’d like to accomplish? Why?
I can’t think of anything I want to try, because when I want to do something, I usually don’t waste any time; I just do it. Many of my goals have been connected to traveling. I really want to see a lot before I get too old to travel easily.
My life goal is to live a happy life. I want to enjoy what I do and be happy both at work and outside of work, which is why I am excited to be working for Presence.
